Fats Domino - The Fat Man (1949). This was Fats Domino’s first single, and supposedly the first million-selling rock and roll single. Notice how similar the melody is to Tipitina; turns out their both based on a traditional New Orleans blues form, perhaps originally from a tune called “Junker’s Blues”, a trait they share with countless other songs.
